My last video about the birds disappearing on my property went absolutely viral — and the comments were overwhelming. Thousands of people from all over the country said the exact same thing: the birds aren’t showing up this year. And now that I’ve been paying closer attention, I’m seeing something even stranger… the insects are missing too. Normally this time of year, my feeders are emptied fast, the chickadees are loud, and the insects are everywhere in the woods. But this year? It’s quiet. Too quiet. My bird feeders are still untouched, there are fewer bugs than usual, and the early-season activity just isn’t happening.
