Cowgirl Mermaid ✨ Finishing Details & Basing the Tail | Part 5

Today we are continuing the Cowgirl Mermaid color along for #MerMay 🐚✨ Even though we’re in June 🫣 In this part I’m focusing on finishing as many of the smaller details as possible, including gems, ornaments and accessories, so that the final episode can be dedicated almost entirely to the tail. I’m also beginning my mother-of-pearl tail idea by creating a soft watercolor foundation using pale blues, pinks and violets. At this stage I’m only working with watercolor, building a gentle iridescent base while preserving plenty of highlights for later. The colored pencil work on the tail will come in the next and final episode, where I’ll be developing the shimmer, texture and finishing touches. As always, feel free to use whatever supplies you have at hand 😊 And if watercolor is not really your thing, you can absolutely skip those steps and simply use colored pencils instead.
