In this case, the following happens: air rises through ducts from all floors up to the attic level and bursts into a horizontal connecting box mounted in the attic. At the same time, the air flow hits the cover of the horizontal ventilation box. The air flow deviates slightly towards the ventilation shaft, but if the internal cross-section of the horizontal attic box is insufficient, then an area of ​​high pressure appears in the box and the air tries to find an outlet into any nearby opening. There are usually two such outlets (openings) - a ventilation shaft intended for this purpose and a channel of the upper floor, since it is the closest and is almost in the box at a distance of only 40-60 cm. and it is easy to "push" it in the opposite direction. If the attic box cross-section is sufficient, but the cover is mounted too low, the same thing happens - reverse draft - the air flow does not have time to deviate towards the ventilation shaft due to the small height of the cover and an impact occurs. The reflected air flow "pushes through" the ventilation of the upper floor and all the odors from the lower floors enter this apartment. There are two ways to combat this - global and local. Global - increase the cross-section of the attic horizontal connecting box by changing its height by 2 - 3 times, plus the device inside the box of "tricky" devices, which we call "cuts". But, firstly, this should be done by specialists, and secondly, it is not recommended to increase the cross-section of the box if the same boxes are connected to the ventilation shaft on the opposite side. The local method is that the channels of the upper floor are separated from the general air flow and separately brought into the shaft on top of the box. These individual ducts are insulated so as not to disturb the temperature and humidity regime (THR) of the attic. And that's it - the ventilation in the apartment works. In more modern multi-storey buildings built in recent years, the ventilation first enters the attic, which serves as a kind of intermediate ventilation chamber, and only then goes outside through one common ventilation shaft. However, where to go and who can solve the problems that have arisen for residents of the upper floors? The ventilation of an apartment building is common. If there are problems, it is necessary to act together. First of all, you need to discuss the problem with all the residents of the entrance. Perhaps, in one apartment there is a very powerful exhaust hood, which harms the operation of the entire system.
