In the closing part of the parable the husbandmen (aka the parable of the Vineyard) is so plainly presented that the whole audience is carried away; and when Christ asked, “What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?” [Everyone replied] with one voice, “He will miserably destroy those wicked men. Matthew 21:42. Jesus went on to say: "Did ye never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?” Matthew 21:42 Then he applies the lesson: “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. Matthew 21:43 "Year after year the wicked husbandmen occupied God’s vineyard, and year after year God looked in vain for fruit. His messengers were shamefully treated. His beloved Son was crucified.
