Woodturning: Hedgehogs

A fun project as little gifts for all the family (if you have pine trees with cones aplenty near you.) The turning is quick and easy. The hardest bit is ensuring you keep all your fingers when you flatten off the bottom of the cone with the bandsaw... And drilling the hole in the base of the cone can be quite hard too, particularly if the cone is seasoned. It is mighty tough stuff to drill and the cone can crumble in your hands so watch it! You can do away with the dowel if you are confident that you can get a good glue bond without it. Certainly would be quicker.
