The use of DDG (dried distillers grains with solubles) — that protein- and energy-rich co-product left over from corn ethanol production — has arrived in full force to boost the feed troughs at Fazenda Vale Verde. Betting on this new nutritional reality combined with the TIP (Intensive Pasture Finishing) system, the property has shown that the Recôncavo and southern Bahia regions have everything they need to make a leap in efficiency and carcass finishing. The great advantage of Fazenda Vale Verde, strategically located just 20 kilometers from the slaughterhouse, is taking advantage of the arrival of this high-protein input. In TIP (Total Integrated Production), DDG (Dried Distillers Grains) acts as the perfect fuel to balance the feed that goes into the feed trough, allowing animals to make the most of the fiber in the available pasture, accelerating fat deposition and shortening the time spent in the fattening cycle. Lucas Nascimento de Oliveira, the originator of the Friboi unit in Itapetinga (BA), closely followed the management on the property and recorded the first shipment of this new project.
