Because of this blessing, they became extremely powerful… but gradually, they began troubling saints, sages, and ordinary people. Finally, the distressed sages and saints prayed to Lord Shiva for help. In response, Lord Shiva took the form of Khandoba and destroyed the demons Malla and Mani. After defeating the demons, while proceeding toward Jejuri, Khanderaya is believed to have rested on this hill for some time.
