Rails in Wales. Railtour 66113/166 into Barry Island 2015.

Join me down inside the Barry Island Railway for the first and last railtour top and tailed with EWS class 66113 and 66166 on August 22nd 2015. The passengers, and their carriages, were taken over to the Island by 73118 as the 66s were too heavy to travel on the track across to the Island station. My clips of movements in the depot and down to the Waterfront are included too. As a member of the BIR and with the agreement of John Buxton, the manager, and important record of the day was possible.. Finally I've included clips of the changes made in 2021, when the Goodshed retail unit was built as part of the modernisation of this part of Barry. Adjacent to the Goodshed, Transport for Wales have their new FLIRT depot/sidings for the new Valley Lines stock. I intend to return to the area for an update in 2026
