Case Study: Auto-Creating Purchase Orders for Sales Order Shortages In this video, we showcase a real client case implemented inside an Odoo / ERP system. The client was facing an issue while creating a Sales Order, where the requested quantity was sometimes greater than the available stock quantity. Instead of having the user manually check the inventory, calculate the shortage, and create a Purchase Order manually, we implemented an automated solution inside the system. The solution works as follows: When a Sales Order is created, the system automatically checks the available stock quantity. If the quantity is available, the process continues normally. But if the available quantity is not enough, the system calculates the missing quantity and automatically creates a Purchase Order for the shortage. Example: If the customer requests 10 units and only 6 units are available in stock, the system automatically creates a Purchase Order for the missing 4 units. This feature helped the client reduce manual work, minimize errors, speed up the purchasing cycle, and improve inventory and customer order management.
