Happy Heavenly 82nd Birthday Britt Allcroft

Today, on December 25, we celebrate what would have been the 82nd birthday of Britt Allcroft (1943–2024). Britt didn't just "produce" a show; she truly loved the world of Sodor. As a young girl, she found comfort in the sound of steam engines passing over the railway bridge near her school, and that sense of peace never left her. When she discovered the Reverend W. Awdry’s books in 1979, she knew she had to share that magic with the world—so much so that she famously mortgaged her own home just to get the first episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends onto television. Though she passed away one year ago, her vision of a world where kindness and hard work (being "Really Useful") matter most continues to inspire us.
