Mazurski grobowiec Franckensteina

The territory of former East Prussia, besides being covered with a network of Teutonic castles and Junker residences, also contains a wealth of lesser-valued but equally interesting monuments. These include the ancestral necropolises of the former owners of local estates. Often situated on hilltops, sometimes on old barrows or strongholds, less frequently near churches, but generally in more or less romantic, picturesque corners of today's Warmia and Mazury, they still bear witness to the bygone history of these lands. At least a few such sites are scattered around the old Teutonic stronghold in Nidzica. One of the most interesting is the grave of Otto Franckenstein, located in the forest near the town of Zagrzewwo. I invite you to join me on a journey in the footsteps of forgotten necropolises and the stories connected with them.
