Udo Dirkschneider, born in Wuppertal in 1952, is one of those German metal musicians, alongside the Scorpions and Doro Pesch, who became internationally renowned early on. His band Accept made a name for themselves in the 1980s, with their album "Balls To The Walls" selling like hot cakes. In 2018, Udo Dirkschneider was a guest at the Summer Breeze Open Air, where he was recorded by WDR Rockpalast. 💡 You can find the whole concert here: https://1.ard.de/Dirkschneider_2018?Y... 🤘 The "Best Of Metal" playlist is available here:    • 🤘 Metal-Highlights   Udo Dirkschneider became a genre icon thanks to his grating voice and compact stature. In 1987, he left Accept in friendship and founded the band U.D.O., in which he was the only constant. Udo Dirkschneider also lives out his love of classic heavy metal with U.D.O. and tours internationally with the band. 📸 Thumbnail photos: WDR/Peter Kupfer #dirkschneider #summerbreezeopenair #Rockpalast ----- 🎬 More Rockpalast: ► Rockpalast in the ARD Mediathek: https://www.ardmediathek.de/sendung/r... ► Rockpalast website and archive: https://www.wdr.de/tv/rockpalast/
