60 Years of Tanzanian Independence, with Prof Issa Shivji
As Tanzania celebrates 60 years of independence, Tshisimani Centre for Activist Education will host distinguished scholar and anti-colonial activist, Prof Issa Shivji, in conversation with Boaventura Monjane, research fellow at PLAAS and scholar-activist. As the continent grapples with questions of decolonisation, increasing scramble for natural resources and the struggle for inspired alternatives, Prof Shivji will share insights on the historical and current crisis in Tanzania - and how it reflects shared realities elsewhere on the continent.
