Shakiya Pridgen, a 23-year-old pregnant mother of two, was shot and killed inside her apartment at The Woods at Peppertree in Decatur, Georgia, on June 16, 2026. Her unborn son, Kyren, also died. According to arrest warrants, 11 shots were fired through Shakiya’s bedroom window while she slept. Investigators say she was struck three times, including once in the abdomen. Family members believe the attack was targeted and planned, claiming the shooter knew Shakiya’s routine and the layout of her bedroom. Authorities later arrested 26-year-old Devin Lamar Anthony in Riverdale with help from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service. Family members identified Anthony as Shakiya’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her unborn child. He is charged with malice murder, feticide, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond.
