Ferma de familie cu 300 ha care a trecut la agricultură conservativă

A family from Călărași County manages to practice conservative agriculture despite not working a very large area. With a 300-hectare farm, Alexandru Simon and his father decided over four years ago to give up the plow and opt for technology with minimal soil work. This year's novelty on the Simon family farm is the vegetable carpet. It has been integrated into the weeding crop, and now the benefits for the main crop, but also for the soil, are being analyzed. Although modernizing technologies is not cheap at all, the farm from Călărași was unable to access European funds, so it decided to finance its investments from its own funds. With an agricultural year with promising production, Alexandru Simon believes that a big problem will be prices. These are currently low in relation to the investments made, and even lower prices are expected at harvest. Although they practice environmentally friendly agriculture and manage their business intelligently, the Simon family does not see how they can expand their areas.
