Nokie Edwards would take time away from the Ventures to collaborate with Gene Moles on this fabulous guitar instrumental from 1961. Gene and Nokie had similar country music backgrounds -- Nokie in Tacoma and Gene in Bakersfield -- and both had worked with Buck Owens. I remember Pat O'Day using this record as a lead in to the news on KJR , similar to what he did with "Walk -- Don't Run", but without success this time around. "Night Run" is one of those great recordings that went overlooked.
