The foundation stone of the "Hotel zum Türken" on the Obersalzberg was laid in 1911. In 1933, during extensive construction work on the Obersalzberg, the hotel was "expropriated" by Martin Bormann. Due to the hotel's close proximity to Hitler's Berghof, it was converted into quarters for the Reich Security Service, which was responsible for the personal protection of Adolf Hitler and his restricted area. After the bombing in April 1945, the building was heavily damaged but was rebuilt by the original owners after the war. The house, which has remained in family ownership to this day with few interruptions during the Nazi era, is currently for sale.
