Top 20 Greatest Chopin Pianists

After the 2025 Chopin Competition, many of us are still in that familiar post competition withdrawal. So in this video, I’m sharing my personal ranking of the Top 20 greatest Chopin interpreters, the pianists who, in my view, come closest to embodying the “Chopin ideal.” This list is entirely subjective. It reflects my own listening experience, my biases, and the qualities I value most in Chopin playing. You’ll probably disagree with some placements, and that’s the beauty of it. Chopin interpretation is a vast universe, and no two listeners hear it the same way. Feel free to share your own rankings, alternative choices, or even pianists I may have overlooked.
