It’s a difficult movie to sit through with subject matter that is hard to talk about and even harder to watch. It’s laced with a fairy tale essence and child-like magic which contrasts beautifully against the colorful surreal and dream elements and the dull, nihilistic, and depressing hollowness. Laurin is a film that will make you feel. You may not enjoy the feelings you get, but the film has something meaningful and worthwhile to say.
