What extreme weather means for the infrastructure Victorians rely on
Over $57 billion of government-owned or regulated infrastructure is at risk from extreme weather. That’s roads, railways, energy, health and a lot more. As the climate keeps warming over the next 40 years, that risk rises to more than $71 billion. Warning signs: climate changes risks to Victoria’s infrastructure is the first research to map where climate risks are highest to essential Victorian infrastructure. It shows which assets are most exposed, which climate risks matter most, and where risks are concentrated across the state. In this webinar, we unpack the findings from our latest research and show how our analysis can help the Victorian Government prioritise spending so it can better protect essential infrastructure that communities rely on. Panellists • Jill Riseley, Acting CEO, Infrastructure Victoria • Llewellyn Reynders, Director, Research and Policy, Infrastructure Victoria • Lorraine Conway, Principal Advisor Energy and Environment, Infrastructure Victoria
