WTF? Crazy Insane Totally NUTS Spec Miata Mayhem at Sebring Super Tour 2022. EPIC last 2 laps!

WOW, so unfortunate to see so many cars unnecessarily punted and wrecked. It’s been a long time since Spec Miata had so many incidents in one Super Tour race, but this weekend there were obviously some really amped-up racers driving well over their heads! Make sure you watch the last two laps 13:31. I qualified poorly in 9th, and was always in the mix and somehow, I managed to stay out of it, and by being consistent, despite being slightly off the pace, I was able to close up on the leaders with help from Elivan Goulart when double yellow came out. With time running short, the restart would be a green/white/checker 2-lap race to the finish, which amped up the intensity even more as everyone was bunched together again and felt like they had a shot at the win. I just tried to stay out of the melee, and maintain contact. Just wasn’t able to compete for the win, but was able to hang on for 4th place, in one of the most intense Spec Miata races I have been in in several years! Congrats to Elivan Goulart for the win, Tyler Gonzalez in 2nd and Jim Drago in 3rd. Really sad to see Preston Pardus and Travis Wiley going into the wall on the last lap. Just a mm or two and that would have been a non-issue. Shows just how close we are all racing, and the consequences of not getting it right.
