Today we’re making a true Balkan classic – “Hadzhi” Beef Stew! 👑 Melt‑in‑your‑mouth meat, colorful veggies and a rich, silky sauce, all slow‑roasted in the oven. This isn’t just any braised meat – it’s a proper feast‑style roast, the kind of dish that used to be served for honored guests. In the video, I show you the exact order of adding vegetables for the perfect sauce, my favorite trick to keep baking paper from burning, and we talk about a fun bit of food history: ❓ Why is it called “Hadzhi” stew? In the Balkans, the word Hadzhi was used for people who had completed a pilgrimage and often came back a bit wealthier – so dishes made “the rich way”, with plenty of meat and good ingredients, often got this name.
