This 2-pack aims straight at our nostalgia with 5.5” scale, spring-loaded Power Punch, two-part Power Sword that clicks together, mini-comic reprints (Battle in the Clouds & The Vengeance of Skeletor), collector-friendly cardbacks, and yes… “vintage-style squishy heads.” Is this the most “vintage but modern” MOTU we’ve had… or just a weird branding exercise? In this video I: • Unbox the giant display box with incredible new artwork (Grayskull, Snake Mountain, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and a Mark Taylor-inspired Castle Grayskull in the distance). • Break down all the throwback features: working Power Punch (twist-and-hit!), combined Power Sword halves, and mini-comic reprints on glossy stock with 80th logos. • Go deep on materials & sculpt: matte plastic vs the vintage gloss feel, softer harness plastic to avoid breakage, painted wrist bracers/belt/boots on He-Man, metallic purples on Skeletor, and the famous pink cheeks call-out. • Show the leg construction upgrade — articulated pegs (no rubber bands!) for better posing and long-term stability. • Test fit the battle axe, shield, Havoc Staff, and talk about the eternal “sword guard on the wrong side” quirk that faithfully returns from the originals. • Do a side-by-side comparison with my 1982 He-Man and a vintage Skeletor (half-boots/pink cheeks variant love!). • Discuss availability pain (Target exclusive headaches, preorder cancellations) and whether this is a fun anniversary one-off or the start of something bigger. My verdict: As a love letter to the 80s line, this set lands. The figures feel solid, stand great, and keep the spirit of the originals while adding tasteful paint hits and sturdier construction. They’re not “replacements” for actual vintage — the head and muscle details still read softer than OGs — but as anniversary tributes they’re a blast on shelf, especially displayed on those slide-out cardbacks with the mini-comics peeking through. Did you pick them up? Do you prefer the painted bracers & metallic accents, or would you rather they stayed totally bare-bones vintage? And where do you land on “squishy head” being listed like a feature? 😂 Drop your take below! 📌 CHAPTERS 00:00 He-Man isn’t 80?!
