Remarks from Yuval Laster, Head of the Finance, Investment and Global Relations Division of the OECD
In this video, the OECD representative addresses the Energy Transition Forum, reflecting on the findings and lessons learned from the Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA) over the past five years. Jointly organized by Bappenas and UNDP, and supported by the Government of Germany, this initiative highlights the crucial journey toward strengthening sustainable, end-to-end waste management systems in Indonesia. As Indonesia aims for zero waste by 2050 and net-zero emissions by 2060, establishing a robust waste infrastructure is more critical than ever. While waste-to-energy solutions like Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) offer a powerful transitional pathway to reduce landfill reliance, this address underlines that true sustainability requires a comprehensive approach—spanning from source segregation to environmentally sound final disposal.
