Testing the best medicine for hair loss and regrowth | minoxidil before and after results | new 2026

In this video, I'll be trying the hair loss medication minoxidil for 3 months. I'll tell you what caused my hair loss, document my side effects and hair progress/regression each week, and show you the before and after results. I know this is an extremely different video to what I normally make, but I wanted to keep a diary of my hair loss (and hopefully hair regrowth) journey. This is an honest tracker of using the hair treatment for hair loss . I started drastically losing my hair in November 2024, due to a condition called telogen effluvium (I'll talk through the cause and effect in the video). I looked up all sorts of things like what is a hair fall solution at home and how to prevent hair loss . I even looked up hair supplements for hair loss and different hairfall and hair growth treatment at home , to try to find the best hair loss treatment for women (and men, whatever works!). I also have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and hypothyroidism (an under-active thyroid), that I see an endocrinologist doctor for. Some people ask me: what is pcos in women and what does it actually cause, and honestly, pcos symptoms and hypothyroidism symptoms can also include hair loss (which I suspect is playing a part in my susceptibility to losing my hair). In terms of thyroid problems in women , pcod and pcos symptoms and the endocrine system physiology in general, it certainly is all very complicated! When my hair loss didn't settle on it's own, I went and had a bunch of blood tests done with my GP/doctor. It turned out I had iron deficiency anaemia and high cortisol. 4 months after an iron infusion, my hair shedding was only getting worse, so I went back to my GP and he referred me onto a dermatologist. The dermatologist recommended a hair treatment for hair growth - minoxidil tablets for hair growth as a hair regrowth treatment / hair follicles regrowth treatment. I immediately asked her: is minoxidil effective for hair regrowth and also as a hair loss treatment for women ? My dermatologist certainly seemed to think so! But I wanted to keep this weekly diary, giving you an update of the side effects and hair loss/hair regrowth I had every week, so that I could actually track my progress properly. In terms of adjusting to the medication: it took about 6 weeks for the more intense side effects to settle (water retention in my breasts, abdominal cramping etc) and 8-10 weeks for the milder side effects to settle (headaches, acne etc). My hair loss drastically reduced, and my hair was barely falling out at around the 10 week mark, but honestly it was pretty early on that I noticed a huge reduction in the amount of hair that I was losing. My daily dose / what dose I'm on: I stayed on the 0.5mg per day dose throughout the 12 weeks/3 months ( 0 3 months ).
