Theyyam is performed at various kavu (temples or kovil),during the 10th of thula month of Malayalam and up to the first week of idava month.This is usually from first week of November to first week of June.Theyyams are the form of various gods like shiva, vishnu, devi,bali etc, most of the characters in the puranam are being performed as Theyyam.People comes to meet theyyam and to tell their sorrows and theyyam ,being the avatar of god give advice to them for achieving their wishes.It is performed mainly in kannur and kasaragod districts of kerala
