"The Man That I Love" [David & Erica] February 4, 2000 All My Children

In the midst of arguing with David over how to handle Alex, Erica blurts out that she loves him. In the hallway, Erica admits that being in love meant that she'd have to break a few promises. David then calls Alex and tells her that he has news for her. He reveals that he has been going over paperwork for a young patient, Karen, and that she has no foster home to go to. David decides to release the child to her family, who Alex believes is abusing her. Alex says that David has been looking for a fight since day one, and that he's finally going to get what he's been looking for. Alex confronts David at the hospital.
