Is only done by fools It’s about collaboration not a long negotiation An actual working product not so much documentation Executive: That sounds to me it’s not based in reality You’re stumbling in the dark, no structure no clarity There’s no real plan and no accountability No rigour no governance it lacks credibility Team Member: You are joking right? You’re just poking fun? You can’t really believe that look at all we’ve done Executive: No, I get it. I know what it’s about It’s hippies and geeks keeping management out The investors won’t like this, they will start to shout Product Owner: OK Stop Reset Keep the seniors tight, always in the know Cos they supply the all important dough Executive: When will it be ready? when will it be done? We need revenue to flow or they’ll stop all the fun Team Member: We’re building something great, we are co-creating Come look at how we’re working, we are collaborating Self-organising teams through virtual co-locating We are starting small and then we’re iterating Producing value now, this is so liberating We don’t want it to stop, this feeling is elating Product Owner Keep a record of what is done, it’s funny When you show them the value they will show you the money With every new version which is incremental Building on the last which was experimental We are following a vision, not stuck on a plan Executive: This responding to change? I’m becoming a fan Product Owner: We tackle ambiguity and solve for complexity Governance is there with reduced discrepancy We have credibility with trust and transparency Emotional intelligence that’s our new currency Regular inspection of what is done Leads to adaption of what is to come Inspect and adapt be flexible and light And all day long watch your products take flight Projects are dead, it’s the product that matters Waterfall serves to leave your plans in tatters Base all decisions on available data Get moving now you will change it later As you get more stats and learn more facts The team takes stock, and then it adapts People crave Autonomy Mastery and Purpose With this mindset the results are momentous Agile’s no religion don’t follow a creed Be flexible adaptable responsive at speed Deliver the value the end users need Deliver early and often, that’s how to succeed The right vision and goals fire the imagination The resulting products will be a sensation A motivated team will draw their inspiration From wanting to succeed by the next iteration They feel like they own it with all their heart Come Monday morning they can’t wait to start Results are flowing from every part Because we embraced this transformation We are glad we evolved into an Agile organisation
