El camino de CARMEN HERNÁNDEZ a los ALTARES: Avanza su proceso de BEATIFICACIÓN

The Neocatechumenal Way celebrates six decades of life marked by the transformation of thousands of people through the proclamation of the Gospel and the communal experience of faith. What began in the shantytowns of Palomeras, in southern Madrid, has become a global ecclesial reality that fosters vocations and rebuilds families with the certainty that God always provides for and accompanies his children. This double celebration coincides with a fundamental milestone: the closing of the diocesan phase of the cause for beatification of its co-initiator, Carmen Hernández. On the program 'Ecclesia Al Día' on TRECE, the postulator of the cause, Charlie Metola, analyzes the origins of this charism, which arose from the encounter between a painter in existential crisis, Kiko Argüello, and a missionary with an immense zeal for evangelization. Metola highlights how the movement rests on three fundamental pillars: the originality of returning to the roots of Christianity, the experience of faith in community, and an extraordinary trust in Providence, sending entire families to the most difficult places in the world to bear witness to God's existence. After ten years of exhaustive work and the compilation of more than 25,500 pages of documentation, Carmen Hernández's cause is now being transferred to the Vatican to begin its Roman phase. The interview reveals the profound spiritual life of the Servant of God, whose inner driving force was an unconditional love for Jesus Christ, which she wrote about every morning in her personal diaries. This historic moment reaffirms the Church's mission to bring the light of the Gospel to the most marginalized communities and to continue forming adult Christians in the faith.
