Reflection: Using the example of the word "we" from the preamble to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the teacher explains to the students how lawyers work with signs. When we see a sign in a text, we begin to decipher it, since the same sign has multiple semantic meanings; otherwise, the meaning of the text will be unclear. During class, the lecturer gives real-life examples and engages in discussion with the students. The lecturer asks the students: "How do lawyers assign a single meaning to a single sign?" Example: Using the word "each" from the Constitution of the Russian Federation. We assign a specific meaning to a specific sign (signifier). This happens, for example, with the help of a glossary. Lawyers create their own language. The lecturer gives an example of the phrase "close relatives," used in the Criminal Procedure Code, which specifically defines them as spouses, parents, children, adoptive parents, adopted children, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren. Other relatives cannot be considered close relatives within the legal language. During the seminar, various forms of interaction with students are used: discussion, brainstorming, and exercises. One of the assignments was to find at least three concepts in the Constitution that are synonymous with the concept of the Russian Federation. One student proposed a definition of the concept "state" from Part 1 of Article 80 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The lecturer asked the students to critically evaluate the student's answer. The students engaged in a lively debate but ultimately reached a consensus and agreed on the proposed definition. It is worth noting that the exercises assigned to students help them form their own opinions and the ability to defend them.
