The 18-km Airport Ring Line (Kehärata/Ringbanan) with 5 new stations, connecting the Helsinki city centre to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and also connecting Myyrmäki and Tikkurila in Vantaa and serving new residential areas, opened on 1.7.2015, and the Airport commuter train station was opened on 10.7.2015. Two stations are located underground - Aviapolis and Airport (Lentoasema/Flygplatsen), in an 8-km long tunnel. The project had been delayed for about a year, and it had been under construction since 2009. It takes about 27 minutes to get to the airport from the city centre, via Tikkurila (the trains stop at all the stations).
