Should Boston Press Scrap The Term ‘Methadone Mile’?
The section of the South End that has long been referred to by locals as ‘Methadone Mile’ for its proximity to methadone clinics sprang into the headlines this week following the police department’s sweep of the area. But some advocates said that using the colloquialism in coverage increased stigma against opioid users.
