Dave & Buster's @ Franklin Mall (Philadelphia PA), 4K arcade walkthrough & tour, December 2024

For today's arcade tour, we're visiting northeast Philadelphia to check out the Dave & Buster's at Franklin Mall. This place and its mall have a lot of history; it originally opened as a Jillian's back in the Nineties, but was taken over by Dave & Buster's when that chain went out of business. At the time, the mall was known as Franklin Mills. Eventually, it got purchased by the Simon Property Group and was rebranded as Philadelphia Mills, and just within the past month, it has been sold off once again and has reverted to a similar name to its original one, and is now officially known as Franklin Mall. So, yeah, yeah, another Dave & Buster's -- but what's unique about this spot? Since it was a former Jillian's, it still has some legacy entertainment that you just don't find at other D&Bs. Namely, this is one of only a handful of Dave & Buster's that still has a bowling alley in it! According to one of the employees, they say there are only eight locations chainwide that feature bowling lanes. On top of that, they also have a sizeable billiards area, with dozens of tables available for you to grab a cue and chalk up. All things considered, the actual arcade area isn't that big compared to the rest of the D&B. It's just in one somewhat smaller room, where the center is taken up with a bar and a few dining tables. They have a lot of the standard games here and not too much out of the ordinary. Overall, it's worth checking out just for the unique factor of the multiple activities, but I wouldn't make this a primary stop to play games on a regular basis unless you're a local.
