I had two of these lying around, and I thought of giving this idea a try, since I saw it on a video on Youtube. I don't realy like people being taken for fools, and I didn't like this particular idea, because there doesn't seem to be much voltage build up. So I desided to test it to see if it holds up. And as it turns out, it is a lie. I cut off the secondary coil of the transformers, and substitute it with 3 turns of a much thicker wire, so that I'll be able to get the voltage I want, according to the video I saw. According to the video there should be enough voltage to allow the current to jump the electrode and make a weld, but the truth is much different. The total voltage I was able to get was just 5 volts, and it wasn't near enough to make the spark strong enough to perform a weld. Maybe it will be good enough for a small spot welder machine, to weld metal shims on batteries, but other than that....not much useful.
