The biggest reason is simple: we pay more attention to people than to our purpose. We spend our time thinking about what others are doing, what they are saying about us, why someone else is ahead of us, or what people might think if we try something new. While we are busy watching others, our own dreams slowly drift farther away. Remember this: every successful person had one thing in common—they kept their eyes on their destination. When your focus is on your goal, the obstacles on your path become smaller. Once you decide what you truly want in life, don't let praise make you lazy, and don't let criticism break your confidence. Think about an archer aiming at a target. If the archer keeps looking at the crowd instead of the target, will the arrow ever hit the mark? Of course not. Life works the same way. If you spend all your time comparing yourself to others, you will never have enough time to improve yourself. Today, social media has made comparison even easier. We see someone buying a new car, someone traveling the world, someone building a successful business, or someone living what looks like a perfect life. But what we don't see are the sleepless nights, the failures, the sacrifices, and the years of hard work behind that success. Success never happens overnight. It is built through small, consistent efforts every single day. Even if you move only one step closer to your goal each day, one day you will reach your destination. The only condition is this: Never stop moving forward. People will always have something to say. Some will tell you that you can't do it. Some will laugh at your dreams. Some will try to discourage you. But when you finally succeed, many of those same people will say, "We always knew you would make it." So don't build your life around people's opinions. Build it around your dreams. An eagle never pays attention to the noise of small birds. It keeps flying higher because its eyes are fixed on the sky. Be like the eagle. Start every morning by reminding yourself of your purpose. Every night, ask yourself one question: "What did I do today to get closer to my dream?" If the answer is "nothing," then that day has been wasted. Time is the most valuable gift we have. Once it is gone, it never comes back. So spend your energy on improving yourself, not on complaining. Don't compete with other people. Compete with the person you were yesterday. If you are a little better today than you were yesterday, you are already moving toward success. Remember, success is not only about money. Success is becoming someone your parents are proud of. Success is being a good role model for your children. Success is bringing peace and happiness to your family. Success is becoming a better human being with good character. And above all, true success is earning the pleasure of Allah. When your goals include both success in this world and success in the Hereafter, your efforts become more meaningful and your journey becomes blessed. Life will never be free from challenges. There will be failures. There will be disappointments. There will be moments when you feel like giving up. But those moments are exactly what separate ordinary people from extraordinary people.
