A horrific accident took place near Indipur-Chhatia village under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits, where a groom’s party vehicle lost control and plunged into a roadside pond late at night. The Mahindra XUV was carrying members of the wedding procession from Bangurasingha village to Indipur. Tragically, five people drowned to death inside the submerged vehicle, including Ram Sahu (25), Abhinash Sahu (26), Rakesh Kumar Sahu (25), Chandrakanta Swain (27), and another relative. Fire services personnel along with local villagers managed to rescue two survivors and retrieve the vehicle from the pond.
