Ramsay Mackay - The witchdoctor of Hillbrow

Born in Scotland on 15 August 1945, but moved to South Africa in 1953. He is a singer, songwriter, poet and bass player. From 1966 to 1970 he was a member of South Africa's best ever rock group, "Freedoms Children". During the 1970s he was very active in the Afro-rock field, playing bass in the Paul Clingman Band and recording albums with Kenny Henson ("Harambee") and Colin Pratley, as well as working on his own projects, including the rock opera "Orang Outang". He released two 7" singles and an album, "Suburbs Of Ur", whilst living in South Africa. He currently lives in Scotland, though he does visit South Africa on occasion. This song is off the album "The Suburbs Of Ur", released in 1982.
