Before the pharmacy took over, Walgreens used to run something most people under 50 have never seen, a full soda fountain counter, complete with soda jerks, hand-mixed phosphates, and short-order grills making sandwiches to go with your prescription. In this video, we're counting down 25 lost Walgreens soda fountain items. Drinks, sandwiches, and desserts that disappeared when the lunch counters were quietly phased out in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Some of these recipes never made it into any cookbook. Some of them are still asked about by customers today, decades later.
