Cabinet's green light to banning exports of scrap metal from SA: Donald Mackay
The cabinet has given the green light to measures to ban exports of scrap metal from South Africa. The economy and public infrastructure has seen widespread damage due to the theft of copper cables and other metals. This is then mixed with waste scrap and sent to other countries. Minister in the Presidency said that the cabinet had considered the draft policy proposals by the Minister of Trade Industry and Competition, Ebrahim Patel.
