Guest speakers : Joseph ZAAROUR Mozart CHAHINE Claire JBEILI Madeleine PEHLIVANIAN MEDAWAR Mgr Georges KHODR Born on 13 July 1945 in Bikfaya/Mhaydssé, the Lebanese pianist, Walid AKL, studied with Yolande Sfeir-Anti at the Lebanese National Conservatory, then in Paris from 1963, at the Académie Marguerite LONG, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris , and the École Normale de Musique. Among his teachers were Professors Germaine MOUNIER, Yvonne LEFÉBURE and Jacques FÉVRIER. One of the most remarkable milestones of his career was a World-Premiere Complete performance and recording of HAYDN’s piano works, presented in recital series in Europe and the United States. AKL didn't just play melodies. He added zest, life and character to each composition he performed. He held numerous honorary distinctions: the Lebanese Order of Merit; Officer of the Order of the Cedar and the Said AKL Prize. He is listed in more than 30 international dictionaries, including the international Who's Who and the French Quid.
