Comparing Collins 75A 4 vs Hammarlund SP600 Vintage Tube Boatanchor Radios
The Collins 75A-4 has been recently repaired and aligned and is compared to my SP600 using the same antenna and sound system. Despite the Collins lazy S-Meter, both radios perform very similarly. The Collins is using a 3kHz mechanical filter while the SP600 is using an 3kHz electronic filter. The 75A-4 was designed for SSB reception and doesn't do so well in this AM test for sound quality
