Why You Should Use Straw on Your Garlic Plants!

We're usually not big fans of applying mulch (wood chips, straw, etc.) in our gardens because we're frequently replanting and changing our row spacing in any given plot. But we've recently read that mulching garlic can keep the soil cooler longer in spring and can drastically improve the size of the eventual garlic harvest. So we're giving it a try! We have some pine straw on the ground near the garden, so we're going to use that sustainable resource to mulch our elephant garlic and see if it indeed does improve the harvest. We'll also pick our PLS595 English peas for the second time, show you some daikon radish kimchi that we made, and cook a big pot of collards for a gathering with friends.
