May 2026, Disability Rights New Jersey announced the launch of “Navigating Your Rights to Special Education in New Jersey: A Self-Advocacy Guide" to empower families with tools to navigate the notoriously complex special education system in New Jersey. The long-awaited 140+ page comprehensive manual was developed in response to an increasing demand for assistance as parents and guardians advocate for their students’ education and support needs.
