This time, we visited the Kuki factory of Nagashima Casting Co., Ltd., the largest manhole cover manufacturing plant in the Kanto region. Manhole covers, which protect the safety of our cities, are cast by pouring iron into molds. After removing the manhole covers from the molds, burrs and protrusions called nails remain. The L-Series power tools are used for the finishing work of grinding away these protrusions. The tools used are disc grinders (grinding wheel diameters 180/125/100mm) and straight grinders.
