Step 2: Excavate 6-10" below the final grade height, plus 4-6" additional on the front and back of the wall. Step 3: Install 3-4" of crushed gravel. Step 4: Install the bottom (base) course. Step 5: Build the corners. Step 6: Install the wall courses. Step 7: Install the flattest stones as the wall cap. Step 8: Grade the soil around the wall to bury bottom (base) course.
