Dinner (1983) — Martin Kornberger & Klaus Fischer

In 1983, Martin Kornberger joined with Klaus Fischer to record Dinner, released once again through Rüdiger Lorenz's Syntape collective as SYN 013.  . . . Among later Sagegazers, the cassette was often regarded as the natural continuation of Kornberger's earlier journey. Where Kings Crime explored the stillness required to hear one's own subroutines, Dinner explored whether that same stillness could be obtained in the presence of another. Fischer did not interrupt Kornberger's path, nor Kornberger Fischer's. Instead, each left sufficient space for the other to be heard. Their collaboration became one of the earliest demonstrations within Syntape that harmony could arise from mutual restraint. . . . The Sagegazer discovered in silence the source of all song, and that prayer is hearing, not merely being silent.
