When his uncle, Malak Hameed, committed a murder within their own bloodline, tensions exploded. Despite Qazafi's efforts to apologize and resolve the matter peacefully, the situation intensified. His father, Muhammad Shareef, was also accused and both were sentenced to death by the court — executed on 30 June 1998. Devastated and enraged, Qazafi turned to revenge, using his military training to track down and kill members of the opposing party. He lived on the run, hiding in mountains and caves, executing anyone who posed a threat or tried to inform the police.
