Artists in Their Times: Korean Modern and Contemporary art｜Curator-guided exhibition tour The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA, Director Youn Bummo), presented Artists in Their Times: Korean Modern and Contemporary Art, beginning on Tuesday, 4 August 2020, at MMCA Gwacheon. Centering on the museum holdings, this permanent exhibition surveys some of the major currents in the 120 years of Korean modern and contemporary art history, featuring some 250 works from the museum’s prized collection and some 100 pieces of archival materials provided by the MMCA Art Research Center (ARC). Together with the in-house publications MMCA Collection 300 published in 2019 and Introduction to Korean Art to be published this year, the exhibition offers an easier and more methodical understanding of Korean art.
