New Hope Railroad: Farewell to No. 40

It was the next-to-last weekend of operations for steam locomotive #40 at the New Hope Railroad, in New Hope, PA. Why? Because the locomotive will be required to undergo it's 1472-service day (or 15 years, whichever comes first) safety inspection - which will essentially require the locomotive to be completely torn down, all parts inspected, fixed or replaced as needed, before it returns to service. It will most likely be down for at least a year or more, as many locomotives are when they undergo said inspection. So, I made sure to make the short trip up to New Hope for one last day of chasing #40 for a while. It was pulling the "Santa's Steam Train Ride" series of trips along the railroad, from New Hope to Lahaska and return. You'll see some familiar spots, and one spot of mine that has been a long-time dream to film at, which I was given permission from the property owner. You'll see it in the first shot in the video.
