Teen Yacht Burglars Snitch on Each Other After Stealing $10,000 in Fishing Gear

West Palm Beach, FL - on December 6th 2025, West Palm Beach police responded to a call from a local marina, after a group of fisherman showed up to their boat for a fishing tournament, and realized their equipment had been stolen. The teens had allegedly stolen at least 6 Shimano fishing rods and reels, totaling close to $10,000 in value. The next day on December 7th, a chance traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Ricardo Gonzalez, 19. According to police, during the stop Ricardo spontaneously uttered that him and two of his friends had stolen the fishing poles that were inside the car. Ricardo was arrested and identified his friends to police.
